Skylights Restaurant is a gourmet food restaurant inspired by the Mediterranean cuisine, which uses the highest quality ingredients to satisfy the most demanding palates.
For the past few months, gastronomic experiences have been organized, which take place on a monthly basis and are open to the public. You can savor ingredients beyond the conventional menu, prepared by renowned guest chefs.

How is a dining experience at the Skylights restaurant?

Taking charge of this culinary experiences are, the executive chef of the Platinum Yucatan Princess Hotel, Agustín Puc and the participating chefs are part of the Le Toques Blanches Continent of the Americas.

They are kitchen artists which have earned their respectful name in the national gastronomic scene. Their dishes are story tellers that reflect experiences, traditions but above all they are full of originality. The perfect complement for the experiences in the Skylights Restaurant are the company of wines, beers or liquors that make the perfect pairing to complement this experience.

It’s usually a seven-course dinner. In each of them, the chefs approach the tables to explain each dish to the diners, leading them to understand the complexity of what they are about to eat and receiving opinions of what they have tasted. On the other hand the Sommelier of the house does the same with the wines or liquors presented for that dish and explains the reason why it has been chosen.

These gastronomic experiences have been so successful that March opens with two sessions per month, making the Skylights restaurant unique in this initiative. Little by little, it is becoming an obligatory gastronomic reference in Playa del Carmen.

 

Which chefs have participated in the gastronomic experiences of the Skylights Restaurant?

Among the chefs who have participated in the gastronomic days of the Skylights Restaurant we can find:

  • Lalo Plascencia with his dinner “Enchilando Princess” where the pork beans stood out.
  • Alan Banda presenting “Peruvian Nikkei Dinner” with mainly seafood recipes, such as Leche de Tigre
  • Mónica Lazcano and Octavio Santiago presenting a “Prehispanic Dinner”, having as ingredients insects and unconventional meats like wild boar and deer, and this is just to mention a few examples.
