 The minimum age is 18. It is an adults-only hotel.

Preguntas frecuentes Is there a disco in this resort?

Yes, we have a disco. It is called Salsa.

Preguntas frecuentes Is drinking water a problem at the Platinum Yucatan Princess? Is bottled water provided?

The ice is made of water filtered with sand, activated carbon, ultraviolet light and chlorine. We also have bottled water.

Preguntas frecuentes Is it a gay friendly resort? I noticed that it is not TAG Approved.

Every guest is important, we don’t discriminate on any basis, including sex or sexual preference. Our behaviour policy applies to all our guests.

Preguntas frecuentes Should we tip with Mexican pesos or US dollars?

Your choice. Both will be gladly accepted.

Preguntas frecuentes Is there a problem with mosquitoes in this resort?

We spray the resort every day with a repellent that is safe for our guests. Once the room is empty, we proceed to fumigate the room.

You can buy cigarettes at the resort’s gift shop.

The climate is warm all year round.

Preguntas frecuentes Is it within walking distance of Quinta Avenida?

No, it is too far to walk. You must take a taxi or take the Princess shuttle service to Playa del Carmen.

300 pesos to the city centre or 20 USD.

Preguntas frecuentes Is there a casino on site? I know you have a “casino night”. Is there a real casino?

 No, we don’t have a casino, just the activity on that specific night at La Plaza.

Preguntas frecuentes Is it safe to buy an excursion from a beach vendor?

We can only suggest one supplier in the resort.

Yes, you can log on to our webapp, where you will find all the information about our restaurants, bars, spa, entertainment, etc.

Preguntas frecuentes Could you please tell me which company arranges transfers from the airport to the hotel and back?

You can book a transfer from the airport to the Platinum Yucatan Hotel and back through this link: https://princess.nexustours.com/transfers/ 

Preguntas frecuentes Does the reggae party on the beach take place all year round? 

Weather permitting the party is held on the beach. In case of rain, we move it to La Plaza. 

Preguntas frecuentes How can I find out about the events taking place at the hotel? It would be good to plan things in advance.

If you go to our webapp, you will find a section with information about the Programme of activities, which is regularly updated.

Preguntas frecuentes Are spa services included in the all-inclusive package? What is the price of the water circuit in the spa? Is there a place where I can get the spa menu?

The spa is not included in the all-inclusive package. Use of the water circuit costs 500 pesos. You will have a 50% discount on massages during the first 24 hours after your arrival. You can see the spa menu on our webapp.

Preguntas frecuentes How far away are the tennis courts in Building #5 (Platinum Deluxe)?

They are 150 metres away, a 7-minute walk, but you can take the train that leaves every 15 minutes from the Princess resort (Grand Riviera Princess).

Preguntas frecuentes Do we need to make a reservation to use the courts? And are they lit in the evening and at night?

Reservations are not necessary. Tennis Pro is available from 9:00 to 17:00. The courts are open from 7:00 to 19:00 free of charge. From 19:00, lights and use of the court cost 20 USD per hour.

Preguntas frecuentes Do we need to bring our own rackets and balls or can we rent them there?

We can provide you with rackets and balls at the tennis court. If you need them after 17:00, you must request them from the staff at the Grand Riviera Princess reception. You must leave a 20 USD deposit per racket, which will be returned when you finish.

Preguntas frecuentes Do you have a Golf area in the sports park? Is there a cost or is it included?

We have 2 holes for practising golf and their use is included.

RESTAURANTS / BARS

Preguntas frecuentes Is there a place to get special coffee drinks? Do you serve “café fuego”?

We have La Plaza and the lobby bar. There is also a stall that opens every afternoon where you can have coffee drinks with alcohol. Yes, they serve “café fuego” every night from 19:00 onwards.

Preguntas frecuentes Are drinks allowed in the room? Are we allowed to take them there from the pool bar?

You can take any drink you receive at a bar to your room. You can’t order them from room service.

Preguntas frecuentes Is there a dress code for restaurants at night?

Men: long trousers and shirts or T-shirts with sleeves and closed shoes.

Women: casual clothes and shoes or high heels.

Preguntas frecuentes I have seen dinners laid out on nesting tables. Can those be booked? 

These nesting tables are located on the terrace of the Rodeo Grill restaurant, and are called Canopy. 

Anyone can make a reservation to dine at this special place. However, you will have to pay 60 USD or 600 pesos per couple. Ask your concierge.

Preguntas frecuentes Are there any restaurants that cost extra, as in, that are not included in the all-inclusive package? How many restaurants are included?

At Platinum Yucatan Princess there is one restaurant where you will have to charge to your room: the Skylight Restaurant. The rest – Rodeo, Aroma, Tao, Bruschetta and Buffet Yucatan – are all included.

The Chill Out Restaurant at the Grand Riviera & Grand Sunset Princess resort is not included and you will have to pay extra.

Casual shorts are not allowed in the à la carte restaurants, but are permitted in the buffet. You should always wear a T-shirt.

The four à la carte restaurants and the Skylights Restaurant.

Preguntas frecuentes Does it cost money to restock the mini-bar? Or is it included in the All-Inclusive option?

There is no “resupply” charge. It is carried out once a day. If you request specific additional items before the daily restocking, these will be charged.

It’s included and available 24/7. You’ll find the menu in your room.

Preguntas frecuentes Is there a safe? What are its measurements?

Yes, the rooms have a safe deposit box. The internal measurements are: 46cm wide x 21.5 cm high x 34 cm deep.

Preguntas frecuentes Are there bathrobes in the rooms? What kind of toiletries do you offer?

Bathrobes and slippers are provided in the rooms. Soap, bath gel, shampoo/conditioner, lotion and bath salts are also provided.

 Yes, we provide hairdryers for you to use during your stay.

Preguntas frecuentes Can we use the same charger in Mexico as in the US for charging iPads and iPhones?

 In Mexico, we use the parallel output that is standard in the US and Canada. We have 110 volts regulated at 60 cycles.

Preguntas frecuentes Are Honeymoon Suite swim-outs considered Platinum? Are they close to the beach?

The honeymoon suites are located in the platinum building (n° 5) and are the closest rooms to the beach. Honeymoon swim-out rooms also have direct access to the Platinum pool bar.

Preguntas frecuentes Are the mini bottles of liqueur in the room included?

Welcome bottles are included: vodka, rum and tequila (1/4 litre). If you need an extra bottle, it costs 6 USD / unit.

Preguntas frecuentes Are there any rooms with ocean views in this resort, or any ocean view from the resort?

We do not have ocean views. The ocean is less than a 5-minute walk away.

Preguntas frecuentes Which is the best block to stay in, in terms of noise levels and sunshine?

Building 1, 2 and 4 are the areas with the quietest rooms. Building 3 is best for sunny rooms.
